On June 24, 2026, an earthquake doublet of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 Mw struck Venezuela, with its epicenter in Yumare, Yaracuy and shallow depth (10–20 km). The hardest-hit states were Yaracuy, Carabobo, Falcón, Lara, Aragua, Miranda, La Guaira, Distrito Capital. It was the strongest quake in over a century.
